Welcome to the 2008 International Conference on Gonadotropins and Receptors

Update:

The final stages of preparation for our exciting scientific programme are now in place.  We have an outstanding and exciting number of eminent speakers and are privileged to welcome the following two distinguished speakers:

Professor Lord Winston, an eminent Obstetrician & Gynaecologist who specialized in reproductive technologies. Not only a respected clinical scientist he has presented medicine and medical science on television to the British public for several decades. Professor Lord Winston has been instrumental in raising the profile of medical sciences in the UK and often speaks in the House of Lords on key issues in society’s interaction and understanding of medical advancements and legislation concerning important issues such as stem cell technology. Now retired from clinical practice he has taken on a new role as Professor of Science and Society at Imperial College.

We have extended our abstract deadline until the 23rd of May and registrations can now be taken on line.  Should you have any queries please contact the Conference Manager Tracey Kennedy at icgr@mdx.ac.uk.

Following the great success of the first International Conference on Gonadotropins and Receptors (ICGR) held at the University of Georgia in 2005 we are pleased to announce ICGR II.

This second congress will broaden on the established focus of ICGR and expand into emerging areas in basic and clinical research. Specifically the main subject areas will focus on: gonadotropins and cancer, analysis of gonadotropins and receptors, genetics and evolution of gonadotropins and receptors, receptor structure and function, developments in the field of pharmacological gonadotropins and gonadotropins and receptors in assisted reproduction.

We believe the meeting will provide an excellent platform for discussion of continuing research and to promote future collaborations. We encourage submission of clinical and basic research, and hope to place a strong emphasis on work submitted by young scientists for both oral and poster presentations.

Social scientific engagement in a relaxed atmosphere in the heart of the English countryside, a stone’s throw away from the bright lights of London. With renowned invited speakers and an engaging conference address by one of England’s most celebrated reproductive biologists, Professor Lord Robert Winston. We hope that with your submissions and participation we can again enjoy a productive and stimulating conference on gonadotropins and their receptors.

On behalf of the organising committee.

Professor Ray Iles
Chair of ICGR II
